I'm Carol McEwen, the senior partner of our team.  I've been helping buyers and sellers since 1990, and I've loved every minute of it! 

How did I get here?  I earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees, plus credit hours toward a doctorate at various schools in the midwest, then taught English and Speech for 8 years as my husband and I moved several times for his education and work. 

We arrived in Arlington in 1976 and settled down here, and we raised two daughters who attended Arlington schools.  As the girls grew, I became a "professional" volunteer.  I was president of two different PTA's, served on various county-wide school committees, and co-chaired two local political campaigns.  Eventually, I took a part time job as an administrator at a local pre-school which my younger daughter attended.

Through all my activities, I realized that I like working with people and solving problems.  I saw that many of the nursery school families were outgrowing their homes, and so the opportunity to help them with their home as well as their children seemed like a natural fit.

As my career has progressed, I've been recognized by the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors' as a Life Member of its "Multi-Million Dollar Club" and as a "Lifetime Top Producer."

Along the way, I've broadened my clientele from only young families, to singles, and retirees who are downsizing.  In fact, I've earned a special designation:  Senior Real Estate Specialist.  This means that I have special training and have nurtured MANY contacts to help senior citizens as they downsize to retirement living.

My strengths?  Attention to detail, personal service, enthusiasm, organization and genuine concern for my clients.  Note that in my reference letters, most of my past clients mention that I made the process easy for them.  Whether working with nervous first time buyers, overwhelmed senior citizens, or overworked mid-life clients, being the "shock absorber" for the process is my main goal and this is the highest praise I can receive.
